The following is a post by Lobo from last round on usx.

Use it as a guide for responding to Travian attacks (and hopefully staying calm)

This is a bit of a guide for you guys that are getting incoming attacks on a village.

A) what to look for.

If you have multiple travian attacks on multiple villages, you will need to sort out the fakes from the real travian attacks.

step 1: Prioritize. Decide which villages are the most crucial for you. Decide which of your villages would be the most beneficial to your attacker.

Once you have done this, the fun really starts. Take a good look at your rally point. Look for tightly packed clusters of attacks. Look at the speed of the incoming attacks. Is it cat speed? Is it ram/chief speed? Is it a raid?
Just by taking a close look at the incomings you can determine a lot about the attacks. If you are online when the attacks are launched, you can tell just about everything about them.

20 Travian attacks, tightly packed, all from the same village, at cat speed. = They are trying to zero the village.

between 2-6 attacks, tightly packed, ram speed, from different villages. = possible chiefing attempt.

Look for these two situations specifically. There are a ton of variations. Once you look at them enough, they will start to pop out at you.

B) what to do.

1) Take note of times. Be specific! I always have a notepad by my keyboard. I write stuff down so I can remember specific times while moving through my villages.

2) Always dodge single Travian attacks. get rid of resources and troops. The worst thing that can happen with a single travian attack is you lose 2 building and/ or fields, and some loyalty.

3) report pertinent information to an officer online. Here is what you need to tell them.

1. Coordinates
2. Time of attacks, what type, how many waves
3. Granary cap
4. Wall level (anything less than 15, start building it up quickly)

C) What not to do
1) Panic
2) report incomplete information
3) Go on the skype channel and start telling people you have incoming, then not answer an officers questions
4) Copy/paste your rally point into a skype chat. (this just spams things up and makes it hard for people to determine what is going on).
5) request reins right away without supplying complete information. (speak with an Officer, they will help you determine what to do). If anything in this MM seems like new information, you WILL need our help. Even if we tell you to just grab your ankles and take it, that is probably what would happen on our own accounts in the same situation.

This all is one of the biggest reasons I have been telling people to build troops thus far. It gives you more options when you defend or attack.

Thank you for your time,

-Lobo
